We stand on the shoulders…

Celebrating the Past, Shaping the Future.
Melanin Mosaic Performance Ensemble is proud to call the Warriors Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, Inc. our home as we build a new legacy for the NYC marching arts community and beyond. With roots that stretch back to 1937, the Warriors’ history as the Minisink Warriors is one of excellence, artistry, and community impact. Sponsored by the Charles Young American Legion Post 398, Haryou-Act, Inc., and the NYC Mission Society, the CMCC Warriors became a cultural icon in Harlem, achieving numerous accolades including World Open Finalists, Northeastern Circuit Champions, and Greater New York Circuit Champions.
As a member of the Warriors Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps, Inc. family, Melanin Mosaic Performance Ensemble is dedicated to preserving the storied past of the CMCC Warriors while ushering in a new era of innovation, empowerment, and opportunity. The Warriors Alumni organization continues to provide intergenerational, developmental experiences in the marching arts, offering training in musical, visual, and physical arts. Their focus on collaboration, community engagement, and fostering excellence inspires individuals to thrive in their personal and professional lives.
This partnership with the CMCC Warriors aligns perfectly with Melanin Mosaic’s mission to elevate underrepresented voices and foster creativity within the African diaspora and BIPOC communities. Our shared commitment to pushing boundaries in performance art, raising mental health awareness, and promoting inclusivity enriches the Warriors' dedication to nurturing positive, high-achieving members of society.
Together, Melanin Mosaic and the CMCC Warriors are shaping a new legacy rooted in tradition, artistic excellence, and collaboration. We honor the past while embracing the future, inspiring the next generation of performers, artists, and community leaders to carry forward the transformative power of the marching arts.
