Meet one of the talented young women representing Melanin Mosaic Performance Ensemble as we prepare to take the court before the New York Liberty vs. Chicago Sky game on July 22 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

On any given weekend in the Winter, many of these performers would be competing against one another. This Summer, they've come together to represent an entire community and introduce color guard to one of the largest audiences in women's sports.

Melanin Mosaic Performance Ensemble is a growing creative collective of storytellers creating across performance, film, education, and community care. Using creative movement as our primary language, we blend color guard, dance, music, and storytelling to create original work that highlights culture, identity, and well-being. Founded by Artistic Director Jarid Polite, our projects range from live performances and educational programs to films and workshops designed to support healthier, more inclusive creative spaces.
